GitLab Certified Agile Portfolio Management Associate Exam
GitLab Certified Agile Portfolio Management Associate is a technical certification offered by GitLab Professional Services to help the GitLab community and team members validate their ability to use GitLab for lean and agile project management, from basic issue tracking to scrum and kanban style project management throughout the complete DevOps lifecycle. To become certified, you must pass an online hands-on certification exam offered worldwide.

Overview
Individuals who earn GitLab Certified Agile Portfolio Management Associate certification are able to perform the following tasks.
- Set up projects by creating issues, labels, milestones, and groups
- Manage projects using GitLab boards, epics, and roadmaps
- Use GitLab to develop portfolio plans
Target Candidate Description
The target candidates are anyone who plans, tracks, and manages projects, including project managers, program managers, product owners, and scrum masters.
Recommended Prerequisite Knowledge
The target candidate should have the following knowledge:
- High-level knowledge of the software development lifecycle
- Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, or other project management workflows
- Familiarity with GitLab is helpful but not required

Response types
To earn a technical certification, candidates must pass a written assessment made up of two types of questions:
- Multiple choice: Has one correct answer, chosen from a list.
- Multiple response: Has two or more correct answers.
Select one or more responses that best answer the question.
Scoring
The written exam consists of 50 questions and a score of 75% is required to pass. Unanswered questions are scored as incorrect; there is no penalty for guessing.
Exam results
Candidates will be notified of their score immediately after completing the exam. If a passing score of 75% is achieved, a follow-up email will be sent from Credly with instructions on accepting the digital certification badge. Please allow up to 24 hours for this badge to be sent.
Candidates who do not receive a passing score will need to repurchase and register for the exam again to complete another attempt. Candidates must wait 14 days from the initial day of registration to be able to repurchase.
Purchasing policies
The following policies apply to individual exam purchases:
- All GitLab certification exam purchases are final. Purchases may not be refunded or exchanged.
- The cost is $150 USD per exam attempt. Please note we no longer include a free retake with the exam fee.
- Exam access expires 14 days after the day of registration, regardless of completion status.
The following policies apply to bulk exam purchases, or the purchase of certification exam vouchers:
- All GitLab certification exam voucher purchases are final. Exam voucher purchases may not be refunded or exchanged.
- All exam vouchers expire 12 months from the date of purchase. You must register for the exam prior to the voucher expiration date. Exam voucher expiration dates cannot be extended.
- Once registered, exam access expires 14 days after the day of registration, regardless of completion status.
During the exam
Test takers must abide by the following exam rules:
- Only one exam attempt is allowed per exam registration.
- Test takers will have 75 minutes to complete all exam questions. A countdown timer is visible through the duration of the exam. Once the timer expires, the exam is automatically submitted, regardless of completion status.
- Test takers must be alone in a quiet environment with a clear desk for the duration of the exam.
- Once started, exams must be completed in one session. Progress will not be saved if the test taker closes the browser window and incomplete exams will not be reviewed for certification.
- Test takers are unable to navigate back to previous exam questions as they progress through the exam.
- Use of any reference materials, resources, and/or other software is not allowed for the duration of the exam.
Exam retake policies
- Only one exam attempt is allowed per exam registration.
- Exam registration is allowed once every 14 days. Test takers will need to wait 14 days from the day of registration in order to repurchase and register for a new attempt.
- Exams may be purchased an unlimited number of times.
